MALAYSIA : THEN AND NOW __ transport for school

TRANSPORT - the movement of people, animals and goods from one location to another .
- modes of transport include air, rail, road, water, cable, pipeline and space .

basically, transport is important since it enables trade between peoples, which in turn establishes civilizations .

'' transport also known as vehicle ''

today, it is clearly shown that our technology develop . if before this, it is not a must for Malaysian citizens to have car, but, today, our demand have changed dramatically . each one of us need at least one car, if not, motorcycle also enough for us to move from one place to another place . easy, right ? save time too .

but, i guess, our great great grandfather/grandmother were much more healthier compared to us cause they exercise lots . it is not about they spend time on jogging or physical training . but, people long time ago, used to walk in order to move . we are different, right ? sometimes, it is true that technology development may harm us as the user too :)

okey .

based on economic problem and currency value, not all of Malaysian citizens afford to buy a transport . before 1957, it is hard for each students to attend school . can you imagine ? walk in rain ? without shoes ? just to attend class ? actually, my generation never face this hardship .

for those who have lots of money, they may afford to buy bicycle in order to move . but, for those who are rich enough they may buy car too .

however, students long time ago, used to attend school by walking . majority of them . . .
even in rainy day, sunny day or windy day .

TODAY .

as shown, lots of public transport, even school bus also prepared for students to attend class . on the other hand, if you notice, students nowadays also may have their car or motorcycle . during Form 4, my friends also used to attend school by driven his own car .

but, do you think it is suitable for our students to bring their own vehicles in school ? does it harm ? how about side effect by bring their own vehicle ?

bye :)

MALAYSIA : THEN AND NOW __ sing song

what is song ?

  • song can be define as a composition for voice or voices, performed by singing. it may also refer to an instrumental musical position and musical instruments .
musical composition - colloquial in American English
musical instruments - choral or vocal song

basically, the lyrics of songs are typically of a poetic, rhyming nature, though they may be religious verses or free prose too .

'' music as identity ''

since kindergarten, we learn music at school . during school, we will learn folk song and art song . ''Pak Pandir - Yang Remeh Temeh'' is the sample of folk song and recorder sound is the example of art song .

Yang Remeh Temeh

ada mata pandang
ada telinga dengar
ada mulut diam
ada tangan garu
ada kaki goyang

ada otak pandai
ada akal pakai
ada bijak gadai
ada mata pejam
ada mulut kunyah

yang remeh dan yang temeh
berlegar di sekelilingmu
berlegar di sekelilingmu
butlah . . (buatlah) . .
buatlah tak tahu
butlah . . (buatlah) . .
buatlah tak tahu

rela jadi tunggul
rela jadi patung
tunggu dilelong
suruh angguk angguk
suruh geleng geleng

oh pujilah aku
ampu lah aku
senang hidupmu
ada tangan tadah
ada maruah campak

yang remeh dan yang temeh
berlegar di sekelilingmu
berlegar di sekelilingmu
butlah . . (buatlah) . .
buatlah tak tahu

butlah . . (buatlah) . .
buatlah tak tahu

so, as we can see here, music is part of our life . everyone know how to sing, but not all of us can sing well like Siti Nurhaliza, right ?

but, what student may learn through music ?
  • define student personality
  • understand the role that music plays in shaping their concept identity
then, because of this courage, we usually have to sing our national anthem every day - Negaraku . here , it is a must for each student to remember our national anthem lyrics . why ? have you ever think about what ''Negaraku'' mean to you ? i just miss the moment to sing this song .

NEGARAKU :
  • proud to be Malaysian :
this song is like a symbol that bring our identity as a Malaysian . i believe, other countries may have their own national anthem, and same goes like Malaysia . through this song, it show us own how harmony and peaceful the place with name - Malaysia .

but, do you know ?
before this, at school, our great great grandfather/grandmother need to sing '' Aikoku Koushin '' - from Japan . as a symbol that we are not free and under Japanese control, so, all students even the teachers in Tanah Melayu need to sing this song every morning before they start their learning . you need to listen to this song :)

by right, we need to be proud with our country . why ?
since 1957, we do not need to sing other countries song at our place . so, we have build our own identity . each one of us most take a good care of our country so, we will not repeat the history and we will remain sing our Negaraku .

this is why ''music is our identity'' .
proud to be malaysian :) thanks god .
